I have spent much of today pottering... After a wander into town for a few bits and pieces I made a mint tea with fresh mint from my pots and sat on my doorstep...
In the winter, when the sun is lower in the sky, the sun doesn't really get over the rooftops and the courtyard is in the shade pretty much all the time. But from the Spring there has been progressively more sunshine and the front of my house gets it all day, which is lovely. I can have morning coffee or lunch here...
Then I can dawdle on my front step and by late afternoon the sun is on my kitchen window...
Which is the other side of that pot of rudbeckia! At the moment, this side is still a bit of an overgrown jumble but I'm thinking maybe another little place to sit is needed for an evening glass of wine..?!
I'm loving the flowers though, these pots of pink and yellow are getting a bit straggly now but they have kept going for months...
This evening I was providing Mum's taxi service but after the drop off I thought it looked like it might be another lovely sunset so I headed up to a spot by Norwich prison, which has great views across the city...
Everything was bathed in pinkish glow...
Even from a distance the cathedral spire stands out...
I have a thing for clouds and skies at the best of times, but with that glow of the setting sun, it somehow gives a magical quality to the end of a summer day...
Hoping for another lovely day tomorrow.
