stubborn about squares...

I am really struggling to maintain any enthusiasm for crafty stuff at the moment. Happy to look at the lovely things others are making but not feeling it myself much. I started this knitted squares blanket months ago and have to confess to being completely bored with it! But there is a little bit of me that is a bit bloody minded and now I just want to get it done so that I don't have to keep looking at it!!

I started this when I was having a bit of a crocheted-out spell. Now I remember why I don't do much knitting! This was meant to be a 'use bits up' project but inevitably I've had to buy more wool - all cheap acrylic stuff but I'm sure I will still end up with more leftovers when I finally finish.

Yesterday, I sorted the squares done so far into colours and counted them up. I'm about a third of the way there... groan...

I'm not even completely convinced I like all the colours but hoping it will look ok when all done.

I reckon if I can do 3 or 4 squares a night I probably have another month or so to go. Plus the joining and a border...

Maybe by Christmas???!!!

Then I just have to decide what to do with it!!

  2. Same as above. The only crafty thing I'm doing are the name place cards for my niece's wedding next year which involves collecting pebbles from the beach on walks ( which gets very heavy ! )
    Good luck with the squares.

    1. Hope its not too big a wedding! That could be a lot of pebbles - how to stretch your pockets!!! I'm too stubborn to wait for the crafty bug to hit again - can't bear the thought of the squares lurking somewhere! So plod on it is...!

  3. Could you mix and match both crochet and knitting? You've already got a range of colours and a range of patterns why not add crochet in too? It might bring the interest back for you.

  4. Hi Sandra, I like Helen's idea, do you sew? you could also add in a few material patches. I have this grand idea of a soft cream quilt made up of crochet, material and lace. One day it just may happen. Hope all is well with you.

  5. I know what you mean about getting bored with projects. It takes the fun out of it. Could you turn the squares you've got into cushion covers perhaps? xx
