red sky at night...

Do you remember that saying? 'Red sky at night, shepherd's delight, red sky in the morning shepherd's warning'. My mum has always come out with random sayings and I always thing of her when I see a sky like this...

Unusually, I didn't have my camera with me when I drove into Norwich to pick up son 3 this evening so had to make do with the camera on my phone to catch this. In reality it was a much more crisp beam lighting up the clouds.

Does anyone else have little sayings they've 'inherited'?!

Wishing you all a delightful weekend...

  1. Stunning photo! Usually I don't have my camera when I see a spectacular thing! My Nana was from the north east and her saying was "Shy bairns get nowt". To translate (!) that means ask for what you want or you won't get anything xx

  2. Love these photos, love sunsets and sun rises. We saw a glorious sun rise in Queensland (top of Australia) my daughter woke me at 4.30am and we sat on the beach and watched the sun come up, stunning and so peaceful. Watched the fishermen get their boats ready to go out and fish for a few hours, it was very warm and nice to just be with my daughter.
I also love fresh pressed line dry washing, must do some more of each today.

  3. I thought it was shepherd's delight but SAILOR'S warning? Lovely piccy, I love a good sunset!

  4. That's interesting, Lucy! Maybe we've been saying the wrong thing for years! Or maybe there are regional differences?

Thanks for taking the time to comment! I love to read your thoughts.
